Home Health Aide (HHA)

Provide personal care and health-related services in clients' homes under RN supervision. HHAs assist with ADLs, perform delegated health tasks, and serve as the primary eyes and ears of the clinical team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Personal & Health Care

  • Assist with all activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
  • Take and record vital signs as directed
  • Assist with prescribed exercises and mobility
  • Observe and report health status changes
  • Maintain a safe and clean home environment

Support Services

  • Prepare meals following dietary guidelines
  • Provide medication reminders (verbal only)
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments
  • Complete accurate daily service documentation

Qualifications

Required

  • Georgia HHA certification or equivalent training
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pass GCHEXS fingerprint background check
  • CPR/First Aid certification (current)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred

  • 1+ years home health experience
  • CNA certification
  • Experience with chronic condition management
  • Bilingual abilities

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Extended standing and walking
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Assist with client transfers
  • Fine motor skills for care tasks

  • Joy Bridge Care orientation and onboarding
  • Agency-specific policies and procedures
  • Client-specific care plan training
  • Infection control and safety procedures
  • 12 hours annual continuing education
