Caregiver providing daily living support at home in Georgia
What is daily living support?

Practical, non-medical help around the home

For many clients, the concern is not bathing or dressing — it is falling. A caregiver present during transfers, walking, and repositioning dramatically reduces fall risk at home. Falls are one of the leading causes of hospitalization for adults over 65, and most happen in the home.

On the household side, our caregivers handle the tasks that pile up when a person can no longer manage them reliably: meals, laundry, light cleaning, and kitchen care. A clean, organized home is not a luxury — it is part of what makes aging in place safe and sustainable.

Joy Bridge Care is licensed by the Georgia Department of Community Health as a Private Home Care Provider. All caregivers are GCHEXS-screened and complete 40 hours of pre-service training.

Why it matters

The difference a caregiver makes every day

A missed meal, a pile of laundry, a trip to the bathroom without support — these aren’t just inconveniences. Over time, they compound into health risks: malnutrition, social withdrawal, preventable falls. Daily living support is how families keep a loved one safely at home instead of moving them to a facility before they’re ready.

Joy Bridge Care caregivers are W-2 employees (not gig contractors), covered by workers’ compensation, and scheduled with both a primary and a backup so your routine never depends on one person.

Frequently asked questions

Daily living support questions answered

What is daily living support?

Daily living support covers the practical, non-medical tasks that become difficult when someone is aging, recovering from surgery, or living with a disability: meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, and mobility help including safe transfers and fall-risk reduction.

Is daily living support covered by Medicaid in Georgia?

Georgia's SOURCE and CCSP Medicaid waiver programs may cover home care services for eligible individuals. Joy Bridge Care is a Private Home Care Provider (PHCP) and can serve clients whose care is funded through these programs. Contact us or your case manager to verify eligibility.

Can a caregiver help prevent falls at home?

Yes. Mobility assistance, safe transfer support, and ambulation supervision significantly reduce fall risk. Our caregivers are trained in safe transfer techniques and are present during high-risk activities like walking to the bathroom, getting out of bed, or navigating stairs.

How do I start daily living support?

Call (470) 567-0589 or request a free consultation. We'll do an in-home assessment, understand your needs and routine, and match you with a primary and backup caregiver.
